Where to find ingredients
All ingredients can be found at local grocery stores, supermarkets, or farmers' markets. Choose fresh, seasonal strawberries for the best flavor.
Preparation
- Prepare the gelatin according to the package instructions
- Place in the refrigerator until it reaches the consistency of egg whites
- Combine the sweetened condensed milk, table cream, egg yolks, milk, and cornstarch in a saucepan
- Place over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil
- Continue stirring without stopping to prevent lumps or burning the bottom of the pan
- Set the custard aside to cool until it reaches room temperature or lukewarm
- In a bowl, mix the dough ingredients, adding the flour gradually until the dough no longer sticks to your hands
- Line the bottom and sides of a medium or large baking dish with the dough
- Prick the entire surface of the dough with a fork
- Bake in a preheated medium oven for 10 to 15 minutes until the dough is lightly golden
- Remove from the oven and allow the crust to cool completely before assembling the tart
- Spread the custard evenly over the cooled crust
- Arrange the sliced strawberries across the top of the custard layer
- Cover the tart with the prepared gelatin set to an egg-white consistency
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving
