Preparation method
- Carefully remove the husks from the corn and set them aside to use as wrappers
- Grate the corn kernels or cut them close to the cob
- Place the kernels in a blender with the water and process until smooth
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl
- Stir in the grated coconut, sugar, and salt
- Mix well until everything is incorporated
- Spoon the mixture into the corn husks
- Fold and tie the husks tightly with kitchen twine or thin strips of husk
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil
- Ensure the water is at a full boil before adding the pamonhas
- Carefully submerge the pamonhas one by one into the boiling water
- Boil for approximately 40 minutes
- Remove the pamonhas from the water using a slotted spoon
- Allow them to cool in a cool, well-ventilated area before serving
