Where to find ingredients
Ingredients like eggs, sugar, all-purpose flour, butter, cream cheese, and guava paste can be found in most supermarkets and grocery stores. Minas cheese, a type of Brazilian white cheese, may be available in specialty cheese shops or Latin American markets. Fresh passion fruits for puree are typically available in supermarkets, especially during their season.
Method
- Mix the eggs and sugar well in a bowl
- Add the grated Minas cheese to the mixture
- Incorporate the cream cheese and melted butter
- Add the all-purpose flour gradually and mix gently until you achieve a uniform batter
- Butter and flour individual ramekins suitable for petit gâteau
- Place the prepared ramekins on a baking sheet
- Fill the ramekins with the batter, up to a little more than half their capacity
- Place a cube of guava paste in the center of each ramekin
- Cover with the remaining batter, without filling to the top edge
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes
- Carefully remove from the oven
- Unmold immediately and serve with guava and passion fruit puree, if desired
Notes
Serve this dessert piping hot to ensure the center remains creamy. The balance between the savory cheese and sweet guava paste creates a velvety and refined texture.
