Pressure Cooker Dulce de Leche: Easy Recipe

Ingredients

1 can (395 g) condensed milk

Where to find ingredients

Condensed milk can be found in most grocery stores in the dairy or baking aisle. Ensure the can is a type specifically designed for pressure cooking, with no added sugars or preservatives if possible.

Preparation method

  1. Remove the paper label from the condensed milk can
  2. With a small knife, remove any glue residue to avoid clogging the pressure cooker valve
  3. Place the condensed milk can inside the pressure cooker
  4. Add water to the pot to cover the can, leaving about two fingers of water above it
  5. Close the pressure cooker and place it over medium heat
  6. As soon as the cooker starts to whistle (hiss), reduce the heat if necessary and cook for 20 minutes
  7. Turn off the heat and wait for the steam to release naturally
  8. Do not force the steam out
  9. When all the pressure has escaped, carefully open the lid of the pot
  10. Use tongs to remove the hot can from the pot, avoiding burns
  11. Let the can cool completely for at least 2 hours before opening
  12. For best results, prepare the dulce de leche the day before consumption
