Ingredients

1 kg salt cod (bacalhau)
1/2 kg potatoes
1/2 kg carrots
2 large onions
1 bell pepper
2 ripe red tomatoes
Olives to taste
Minced garlic to taste
Chopped cilantro to taste
1 tablespoon tomato paste
Coconut milk to taste
Olive oil to taste
2 cups milk
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon butter
1 egg
1/2 cup heavy cream
Nutmeg to taste
Black pepper to taste
Salt to taste

Method

  1. Soak the cod in water for 24 hours
  2. Remember to change the water regularly to remove excess salt
  3. Boil the cod briefly
  4. Discard the skin and bones
  5. Reserve the cooking water
  6. Flake the cod meat
  7. Season the cod flakes with garlic
  8. Add salt and cilantro
