Ingredients
2 whole racks of beef ribs
6 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1/2 lime
Salt to taste
Beef broth (optional)
6 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1/2 lime
Salt to taste
Beef broth (optional)
Where to find ingredients
Beef ribs can typically be found in the meat section of most supermarkets. Look for whole racks or specific cuts like 'beef short ribs' or 'beef back ribs'. Latin or Brazilian markets may also carry them. For beef broth, it's available in cartons or cubes in the soup or international aisle of larger supermarkets, or you can make your own from beef bones.
Preparation method
- Season the ribs with minced garlic, lime juice, and salt
- Place the seasoned meat in a roasting pan
- Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil
- Place in a preheated oven at medium temperature (approximately 180°C or 350°F) and bake for 3 hours
- Remove the aluminum foil
- Continue roasting for a longer time, turning the meat occasionally and basting with beef broth (if using) or with the pan juices, until well browned
- If the sauce in the pan dries out, add a little boiling water to prevent sticking and to create more sauce
Observations
Roasted ribs are a comforting and flavorful dish, ideal for family gatherings and celebrations. This recipe uses whole cuts of beef ribs, roasted until they reach a melt-in-your-mouth texture, with a golden and appetizing crust. The preparation, although it requires time, is surprisingly simple, focusing on basic seasonings that enhance the natural flavor of the meat.
