1 can (395g) condensed milk
3 tablespoons instant coffee granules
1/2 cup (120ml) brandy

Where to find ingredients

Ingredients can be found at most grocery stores and supermarkets. Look for nuts, chocolates, dairy products, baking supplies, and spirits in their respective aisles.

Preparation method

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form
  2. Incorporate egg yolks one by one
  3. Gradually add sugar, ground walnuts, grated chocolate, and boiling milk
  4. Gently mix the sifted flour with the baking powder
  5. Transfer the batter to a greased round cake pan
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes
  7. Remove from oven, unmold, and let cool completely
  8. For the filling, beat the butter until creamy
  9. Dissolve the instant coffee in 1 tablespoon of hot water
  10. Gradually add the condensed milk and dissolved coffee to the butter, beating until a homogeneous cream forms
  11. Cut the cake in half and brush the cut sides with brandy
  12. Spread one layer of frosting in the center and cover the entire surface of the cake with the remaining cream

Observations

This recipe results in a balanced and sophisticated cake. The secret to the success of this preparation is to beat the butter well to ensure the frosting is light and homogeneous.
