Where to find ingredients
Condensed milk and margarine are widely available in the dairy or baking aisles of most supermarkets. Cornstarch cookies can be found in the cookie or baking section of supermarkets. Peanut cream can be found in the peanut butter or international foods aisle of large supermarkets, or in specialty food stores or Latin American markets. If you can't find peanut cream, you can use smooth peanut butter.
Preparation method
- Grind the cornstarch cookies in a blender until a fine crumb is obtained
- In a mixer, place the condensed milk and margarine
- Beat until a homogeneous mixture is obtained
- Add the peanut cream gradually to the mixture in the mixer and continue beating
- Remove the dough from the mixer and transfer it to a bowl
- Gradually add the cookie crumbs to the dough
- Mix and knead with your hands until all ingredients are well incorporated and the dough is moldable
- Transfer the dough to an ovenproof dish or Pyrex
- Refrigerate and let it chill overnight, or for at least 8 hours, to firm up well
- Cut the paçoca into small squares before serving
