Preparation method
- In a large bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the flour
- Gradually incorporate the rest of the flour, mixing with your hands until you form a homogeneous dough that doesn't stick
- The dough should have a slightly crumbly texture
- Line a baking dish with half of the prepared dough, covering the bottom and sides well
- Add your chosen filling over the dough base
- Cover the filling with the other half of the dough, spreading it evenly
- In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk with the oil
- Brush this mixture over the entire surface of the empadão
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown and the dough is completely cooked
