Easy and Traditional Shrimp Cocktail

Ingredients

500 g shrimp (cooked and peeled)
1 head of lettuce
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 shot brandy
2 tablespoons heavy cream
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Ice to taste

Preparation method

  1. Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly, dry them carefully, and finely chop them
  2. In a pot, add water and bring to a boil
  3. Add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook for a few minutes until they turn pink
  4. Remove and set aside
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brandy, and heavy cream
  6. Chop most of the cooked shrimp into smaller pieces
  7. Reserve some whole shrimp for garnish
  8. Add the chopped shrimp to the sauce mixture and gently incorporate
  9. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste
  10. In individual glasses, place a layer of ice at the bottom
  11. Over the ice, add a portion of chopped lettuce
  12. Add a generous portion of the shrimp mixture over the lettuce
  13. Garnish each glass with the reserved whole shrimp
  14. Serve the shrimp cocktail immediately while it is very cold
